Day 1 – 36ONE Hatzolah Cycle Tour 2026: Stellenbosch–Paarl–Franschhoek Loop

Start & Finish: Asara Wine Estate, Stellenbosch

Get ready for a breathtaking ride through the heart of the Cape Winelands! Starting and ending at the luxurious Asara Wine Estate, this scenic loop takes you through some of the most beautiful cycling terrain in South Africa.

The route winds out of Stellenbosch, surrounded by rolling vineyards and towering mountains, before heading through the tranquil village of Simondium. From there, riders continue towards Groot Drakenstein, with panoramic views of lush valleys and the majestic Drakenstein Mountains.

A gentle climb takes you towards Paarl, one of the oldest towns in the country, where the famous granite domes rise above the vineyards. Enjoy smooth roads and picture-perfect scenery as you circle around the Groot Vaboomkop area, before looping back past Haelhoeksneukop and the Haweqwa Nature Reserve in the distance.

The return leg meanders back through the wine country, with the scent of fynbos and oak trees lining the route, before rolling back into Asara, where riders can relax and celebrate the day’s adventure with a well-deserved glass of wine and a gourmet meal.

Day 2 – 36ONE Hatzolah Cycle Tour 2026: From Asara Hotel to Arabella Hotel

Day 2 of the tour takes riders on a truly unforgettable journey — from the vineyards of Stellenbosch to the ocean breeze of the Cape Whale Coast.

Leaving Asara Wine Estate, the route weaves through the historic town of Stellenbosch, before descending towards Somerset West and the coastal plain. From here, the scenery transforms dramatically as cyclists join the famous Clarence Drive (R44) — one of the most breathtaking coastal roads in the world.

This stretch between Gordon’s Bay and Rooi-Els hugs the rugged cliffs of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, offering endless views of the Atlantic Ocean, towering mountains, and perhaps even a glimpse of whales breaching offshore. The winding route continues past Betty’s Bay and Pringle Bay, two laid-back coastal gems surrounded by fynbos-covered slopes.

The final leg brings riders inland along peaceful country roads towards the luxurious Arabella Hotel & Spa, nestled between the mountains and the Bot River Lagoon — the perfect place to unwind after a day of exhilarating cycling.

Day 3 – 36ONE Hatzolah Cycle Tour 2026: The Arabella Experience

Start & Finish: Arabella Hotel & Spa

Day 3 offers a change of pace, a relaxed yet scenic ride that loops through the tranquil countryside surrounding Arabella Hotel & Spa. Starting right from the hotel, riders head out into the Overberg’s rolling farmlands, where open roads, mountain backdrops, and the gentle scent of fynbos set the tone for a truly soul-filling morning.

The route winds past the Bot River Lagoon, offering panoramic views across the water and the surrounding nature reserves. Riders can expect smooth, flowing roads and a few enjoyable climbs, just enough to keep the legs turning while soaking up the peace and beauty of the area.

After returning to Arabella, everyone settles down for a delicious lunch overlooking the lagoon. The afternoon then continues in comfort as the group boards a luxury air-conditioned touring coach for a scenic commute from Hermanus to the magnificent Oubaai Hotel in George. There, riders will check in, unwind, and enjoy a restful evening in preparation for the Garden Route’s spectacular mountain stage the next morning.

Day 4 – 36ONE Hatzolah Cycle Tour 2026: The George Loop, Mountains and Forests

Start & Finish: Oubaai Hotel, Herolds Bay

The penultimate day showcases the raw beauty of the Garden Route. Starting from the coastal haven of Herolds Bay, riders set out toward the magnificent Outeniqua Pass, a legendary climb that winds through lush forests and mountain vistas.
From there, the route takes sections of the Seven Passes Road, a masterpiece of 19th-century engineering that links George and Wilderness. Expect flowing descents, shaded forest roads, and occasional glimpses of the ocean below, cycling at its most magnificent.
The return leg sweeps back toward Oubaai, where the group will celebrate the day’s achievement and enjoy the tour’s signature gala dinner overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Day 5 – 36ONE Hatzolah Cycle Tour 2026: Oubaai to Seeplaas, The Perfect Farewell Ride

The final morning of the 36ONE Hatzolah Cycle Tour is pure magic, a relaxed coastal ride that captures the spirit of the entire week.
Leaving Oubaai, riders roll onto the R102, a quiet and beautifully scenic stretch of road that winds along the Garden Route coastline. The fresh morning air, the sound of the ocean, and the gentle rhythm of the peloton make this final ride one to savour.
The destination is Seeplaas, a hidden gem perched above the sea where riders will enjoy a well-earned coffee overlooking the waves. It’s the perfect place to rest the legs, take a few final photos, and reflect on an unforgettable adventure shared with friends and fellow riders.
After soaking in the view and a few laughs, the group pedals back to Oubaai, where the tour concludes with smiles, memories, and heartfelt goodbyes before heading to the airport.
